[List I/46a] Antoine's Koushites (VIIth century BC) "The Black Pharaohs"

These are the Kushite Nubians of my son Anthony.

These Nubians constitute a single DBA army, not intended for the big battle DBA although its future passage to this format is envisaged. The army consisted of figurines obtained free of charge at a very interesting promo Foundry miniatures (the tanks, of the same brand, are of the recovery)

The Nubians were raising baboons to chase the criminals (and other Egyptian rebels) into the narrow underground of Egypt.

A third tank (for future passage in BBDBA format)

The Kouchite cavalry is frequently represented on the monuments of Nubia
"Heavy" warriors
"Heavy" bowmen

Skirmishers (archers and javelinmen)
The kingdom of Kush is the appellation that the ancient Egyptians gave to the kingdom which was established in the south of their country since the ancient Egyptian empire. This kingdom had an unusual longevity and its origins in the neolithic cultures that developed in the Nilotic corridor of present-day Sudan and Egyptian Nubia.

With the reign of Prince Alara then that of King Kashta the Kushite, one witnessed the conquest of Lower Nubia and then of Upper Egypt. This period can then be considered as the apogee of the kingdom of Napata, whose dynasty demands the inheritance of Egypt. Indeed, before the anarchy that reigned there, Piyé (PIankhy), then after him his successors, intervene and ascend the throne of Egypt founding the XXVth dynasty. Their kingdom then extends from the Sixth Cataract to the environs of Khartoum to the Mediterranean. All rule over the kingdom of Kush and Egypt.
.

However, it is generally considered that the actual beginning of the XXVth dynasty corresponds to the reign of Chabaqa, which after a new conquest of Egypt established its capital at Memphis. Indeed, the conquest of Piye in the year 21 of his reign did not follow a permanent settlement in Egypt. After his victory, he returned to Napata.

Similarly Taharqa is considered the last true Nubian king in Egypt, after a first half of prosperous rule, he is finally defeated by the Assyrians and retires to the south (in Nubia or Thebes) where he dies after 26 years of reign In -664. Tanouetamani after a final reconquest of Egypt, is again defeated by the Assyrian troops in -663. It is often spoken of the ransacking of the city of Thebes during this last defeat, but this fact has not yet been proved by archeology.
From this period dates the construction of the Napapian temples of the present Nubia and the Sudan. This empire will end in the second half of the seventh century with the conquest of Egypt by the Assyians. The kingdom that preserves Napata as its capital then finds its original frontiers.
