Holy roman empire artillery, circa 1500

 The artillery of my German renaisance army contains a piece of artillery, which is an interesting three - piece battery in big battle.

One of the pieces is a howitzer. The figurines are CITADEL / GW of the 1990's.

European village (1300 à 1850)

A village realized for my armies of the 100 years war but, with a little historical tolerance, it can also pass for much of the later periods.

Spanish line regiments, 1643

The Spanish army at Rocroi contained a large number of infantry regiments, the famous Tercios, of which Rocroi was, for the most part, the tomb.

• 3 Italian tercios
• 5 Wallons regiments
• 5 German regiments
• 2 Burgundian regiments

The army in DBA format 1500-1900 has 5 pikes and 4 musketeers.

French line regiments, 1643

My armies XVIIth century French and Spanish are of DBA format and not BBDBA. They therefore comprise only twelve plates each in total.

"Régiment de Picardie"

As a result, the French army that I line up has only 3 pincers. So I chose three regiments. The choice was made for the regiments of Picardy, Piedmont, and the Navy. I wanted to align the regiment of Picardy and the choice of the other two imposed itself on reading the stories of the battle. These regiments were in the same battle area (even if the extract below does not relate their best feat of arms)

The regiments of Picardy, Piedmont, and the Navy are among the "old" ones, such as the old regiments which were not dissolved at the end of the campaigns.

British light dragoons 1808-1810

The English army of Antoine has two plates of light dragoons. They wear the traditional and spectacular caterpillar helmet that will be abandoned for the benefit of the shako during the late phases of the war

British artillery 1808-1810

Antoine's English army includes, besides the artillery of the Spanish corps, two artillery batteries with English feet.

Highlander infantry 1808-1810

The figures below represent the Scottish infantry of the English army of Antoine.


The thin red line is fairly well rendered by the use of narrower sockets than the DBA 1500-1900 extension.


 We decided in my game group to reduce the depth of the infantry bases for simple aesthetic reasons.


 The flags are still missing. Photos will be changed when they are added.

 

 

At the battle of La Coruña, it was a 42nd Highlander soldier who brought General John Moore mortally wounded to put him in the rear. Moore's army was evacuated from Spain and the 1st Highlanders Battalion went with them.

Like the 1st Battalion, the 2nd Battalion was sent from Ireland to Spain, where he served throughout the Spanish War in the Duke of the Army of Wellington. The 2nd fought with great distinction in the battle of Fuentes de Oñoro and the bloody seat of Badajoz.

The 1st Battalion returned to Spain in the period of the Battle of Salamanca and then served in the rest of the war in Spain and in the south of France, including the Battle of Vittoria and the Battle of Nivelle.
