It is the book containing the armies of the "dark ages" (according to Anglo-Saxon terminology). There are a large number of armies made up of tribal bands (Franks, Visigoths, Arabs of Islamic conquests etc) with or without knights (Ostrogoths, Lombards, Normans etc)
Some armies are distinguished by their natures but the armies of shooters (archers, artillery) are very rare during the period.
Paradoxically, my armies of this period are rather "exotic" and do not correspond to the typical armies of Book III.
