A village realized for my armies of the 100 years war but, with a little historical tolerance, it can also pass for much of the later periods.
Blog dedicated to the historical wargame with 28mm figures with the rules of Bellis Antiquitatis and Big battles DBA as well as with their extensions. (Antiquity, Middle Ages, XVIIth century, first empire)

[List II/53] British celt village Ist century BC - 1st century AD
A small Breton village with round huts that I had realized for the birthday of a friend who played an ancient Breton army. The decor was originally designed for the WAB game, so the roofs of the huts are removable to allow the placement of figurines. In DBA, the problem does not arise in the same terms.
The pictures of the reconstructed buildings come from the archeosite Butser farm, en Angleterre.

[List II/3] ou [List II/42] Hindu village (Antiquity and middle ages)
Here is a small Indian village (Hindu, because of the religious motifs represented and the small temple). I use it, however, with my Kushan Indians, although the latter are Buddhists; The village is perfectly adapted to the Chola Indians of Quentin.
DBA 3.0 rules now differentiate three types of built-up areas. The village is one of these three new categories. I chose to realize it smaller size than the maximum allowed dimensions, in order to distinguish it from the cities.

Access to the royal apartments by the inner courtyard is protected by the vigilant guard of the Hapirous guard (Hàbirù) who followed Idri-mi on his reconquest of Alalakh.
The royal archives and their wax tablets (although the history of Idri-mi is best known to us by the inscriptions engraved on his statue.
[List I/14b] European Farm of the Bronze Age
The Bronze Age houses are usually small and rectangular, small in size, sometimes with attics on four posts and enclosures for livestock.
Concerning the material culture bordering the Channel, the round house seems to dominate, at the end of the Bronze Age until the beginnings of the Iron Age. It is preceded by a porch. It is this type of habitat that I have chosen to represent. Especially since one of my friends, an archaeologist specialized in this period, has searched this type of habitat and that it is the conversations I had with him that prompted me to develop an army and scenery that time.

I gave this small farm a garden, as is often the case in the Bronze Age in Europe, and an attic raised on stilts (to limit the impact of rodents) and an enclosure for livestock.
The fence around the farm is not really defensive but protects the property from the intrusion of wild animals.
